Graceful Perseverance: The Potter's Hands!

Posted April 19th, 2015 @ 04:04pm

Welcome back everyone! This week my faith based blog focuses on "The Potter's Hands" since we are His clay!in-the-potters-hands

Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter, we are all the work of your hand. - Isaiah 64:8

The Lord wants more than anything to mold us and  shape us to be more and more like Him! We are all the work of His hands. Just as the potter holds his stained clump of clay in his hands, the Lord holds us in the palms of His hands to reshape us. He doesn't throw the clay away.

PotterClayThis is the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: "Go down to the potter's house, and there I will give you my message."

So I went down to the potter's house, and I saw Him working at the wheel. But the pot He was shaping from the clay was marred in His hands, so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to Him.

Then the word of the Lord came to me. He declared, "Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does? Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel." - Jeremiah 18: 1-6

maxresdefaultWe, God's children, were born sinners. We are perfectly flawed. We are marred, scarred, blemished, stained and disfigured. Many live out their daily circumstances with the absence of the Holy Spirit. The events of our lives sometimes feel like an ultimate preconceived plan for our lives, and other times our lives are filled with suffering, pain and disappointment. It is only when we feel peace and harmony in our day-to-day experiences that we are truly connected to His spirit.

It is only when we call His spirit into our presence that He can guide us, steer us into the direction of His crafted, perfected plan for our lives. Learn to be His clay. Let Him break you down to build you back up. Just as a potter has a vision of the clay in his hands, a new creation, set apart and unique from any other, this new self, will be the one He desires us to be.pottershandwel

Trust in Him. Seek His face. Let Him break the sinful self down to transform the old self. The work of His hands will mold you, shape you into the one He intended you to be for His glory. The old self will die to the new self, but your heart must seek His face daily so that He can be alive in you through His spirit. Give your life to the potter!

Until next week,

Debra M. Pauli
