Graceful Perseverance: Paint Your Life with New Colors! (3-week series)

Posted July 2nd, 2014 @ 12:07pm

Welcome back everyone! This week I am going to take a few steps back and share with you my signature program as an author and motivational speaker - Paint Your Life with New Colors (shifting attitudes/shifting outcomes). Debra Signature Program - Paint Your Life with New Colors 7-1-2014 copy I created this program back in 2003 and took it on the road as a motivational, keynote speaker.

I have shared this practice across many venues - expo workshops, keynotes, rotary clubs, annual conventions where directors gathered, church events, private gatherings and several women's events. Men and women alike were hungry and still are today to learn from what I've had to make a daily practice in my life. Today is no different. Much of what I practice and teach is timeless life examination, habitual behavior and mindset changes for all of us. Are you ready for a piviotal point in your life? Are you ready to reunite and set the course for your new life?

This is a 3-prong program, a diamond in the rough to be discovered and practiced daily. It's the "Think/Feel/Do Lifestyle" starting with Self-Evaluation, the 1st prong on the diamond; followed by the 2nd prong of Perseverance and the 3rd prong of Relationships. So for the next three weeks we will break out each of these prongs, starting today with the 1st prong on the diamond.

How many of you today believe that making a better world starts from "within" and is not only a must, but a responsibility the majority of mankind does not understand? The most important thing to remember is this: Be ready at any moment to give up what "You Are" for what "You Might Become!"

Here's a set of questions I have for you before we get started? 1. Are you ready to wake up from sleepwalking through life, and instead become "service" individuals helping the world and ourselves to evolve? 2. Are you ready for a new way of thinking, a new reality, a new life, a new destiny? 3. Are you ready to become conscious and truly believe that your choices are the ones determining your destiny and not your external circumstances or other people's opinions or actions? 4. Are you ready to break through and become an unstoppable, irresistable and deliberate creator?

I know for sure that my life has been a vivid example, a living testimony of the right thinking (mindset) and determination (perseverance) to endure the most adverse circumstances, but also how to reach my highest potential even through insurmountable pivotal turns or changes in my life. My teachings since 2003 are through my life experiences. I do not lecture or speak on philosophies, we have philosophers for that, but I put thinking and reality into practice. As a result, I discovered long ago there were three critical pieces, diamond prongs, to the process that make up my signature program.

First, is the "Power Within" and the output is unstoppable. The Second is "Forgiveness" and the output is irresistable peace, and the third is "Perseverance" and the output is deliberate creator of my life. Let's clarify, verify, amplify and emphasize each prong.hands holding sun

First is the "Power Within" - You are the co-creator of your life. Power within is greater than you realize. You already have the powerful attitude (mindset) and hard work it takes for your success.

Follow this 3-step process:

1. Look in the mirror: Between worlds - fantasy taleIf you don't like who you are, only you can change that. Look in the mirror, not at others. Be in a state of gratitude for your gifts. Don't concentrate on what you don't have, affirm the gifts you do have and run with them!

2. Affirmations: Say out loud "Right now, this very moment, I am the most beautiful version of me!" (repeat 3X).Think Positive

3. Respect: Respect your body through daily affirmations! Accept affirmations from others as well.

To help clarify my point. In the story "Blindsided" there was a moment when Tiger Woods' pivotal turn in his life was due to his infidelity/betrayal to his family, which then caused his golf career to take a deep dive downward. Another example of a pivotal moment was in the movie "Crazy Heart" 2009 with Jeff Bridges and the turn in his life. He was an alcoholic, country music legend, hard living crooner, who loses his girlfriend's 4-year old son in a bar because he needed to have a stiff drink. He goes to treatment, she says goodbye, so he had to pick up his crazy heart and give it one more try.respect yourself

Here's some believable sources that reinforce my concepts and practices above.

"Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me." - Carol Burnett

"I answer to myself and no one else. The person looking back at you in the mirror is the one you have to answer to every day." - Dr. Wayne Dyer

"Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself." - George Bernard Shaw

"We have to continue to learn. We have to be open. And we have to be ready to release our knowledge in order to come to a higher understanding of reality." - Thich Nhat Hanh

"Trust yourself. You know more than you think you do." - Benjamin Spock

"If you deliberately plan on being less than you are capable of being, then I warn you that you'll be unhappy for the rest of your life." - Abraham H. Maslow

And last but not least - "Knowing yourself if the beginning of all wisdom." - Aristotle

So in the 3-prong diamond, we covered the 1st prong Self-Evaluation (Love Yourself) today. Next week and the following week we will cover the 2nd prong Perseverance (Power Within) and the 3rd prong Relationships (Forgiveness).

Until next week, God Bless!
