Welcome back, everyone! This week I want to chat about your Godly worth, your Godly worth in this world.
Every morning that you wake up breathing, every day that your heart keeps beating, your life still has purpose. You may feel broken beyond repair, but He will sing His song over you. He will breathe life into you. You will feel “born again” every morning. You will feel alive again. You will feel you’ve been given one more day to live your life.
And every night when you close your eyes, lie down, but don’t give up. Don’t quit. You must hold on tight. Even when you are slumbering, God is at work for you. Every breath you take has purpose. Every breath has meaning for something more than what you can see in that moment of time. You are here for a reason. He’s not forgotten you in the moments when you feel He’s too busy to set you free from your pain and suffering. You’re not forgotten. You’re never alone. You will never be unloved. I know, there are times when you feel worthless and that He can’t use you, but know that you are worth it because He calls you His own.
There are moments you feel like there’s no plan for your life. You feel like He can never use you in His glorious creations. You feel your entire life is driven by chance. But those are false accusations that you are allowing to consume your mind, and they will eventually crush you. But don’t believe these lies. You are everything He needs and more.
Every day that you spend just barely surviving, holding onto the threads of “just getting by” because you feel useless, you must believe He has a bigger plan for you. He needs you. He uses the weak to change the strong: what a blessing to have this reassurance. Every day is a blessing of breath for one more day. The fact that you wake and take your first breath in the morning is His reassurance that He needs you one more day. Don’t throw this day away. Instead, ask Him in prayer how He needs you this day. Demand that He show you what you need to do today for His glory. He will show you.
After all of these years of feeling broken beyond repair, I’ve learned that every struggle I go through has made me new. The old me is gone; history no longer serves me. Today, I look out the front window of life because looking in the rearview mirror no longer serves me. Every day I wake I am made new. For the first time in my life I feel like I am truly living the life I was intended to live. I am no longer bound by lies, false accusations, fear, guilt, shame or despair over who I am, my sinful nature, or the purpose for my life. For the first time in 53 years, I am truly filled with peace and joy. A state that I had to practice by surrendering the old me, by letting go of all false perceptions of myself, and old beliefs that because I was so broken there was no purpose for me in this life.
The joy and peace I feel today is so much more than anything I’ve ever known before. I know that I am not wrong because He’s made a promise to me by reassuring my heart that this is truly just the beginning of a new life with Him always by my side. I do feel born again. For the first time in my life I feel like I am living. I’m breathing; I’m moving. I have something I didn’t have yesterday. I gain something new every day. He gave me a life and love that I’ve never experienced before.
So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge – that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. – Ephesians 3:17-19
I no longer hesitate to receive in His morning, abundant amounts of joy, or His comforting evening peace.
